Bio
She is a marketing and communications expert with over 15 years experience in business strategy, writing, project management, new business development and public relations.
As an Account Manager in the advertising industry, Karen managed projects ranging from corporate branding campaigns to web strategy and development for clients such as Canada Post Corporation and Mead-Johnson Canada. Previous sales and marketing roles include positions with NCR Canada and Royal Bank.
An exceptional writer and speaker with the ability to create and sell a story, she has been published in numerous leading national publications including Marketing Magazine, Rotman Magazine, the Financial Post (ghostwriter), IABC Communicator and Hospital News. Her publicity work on two major national visual arts awards shows resulted in media coverage in both local as well as national press.
As principal of K-Vision Communications, Karen provided strategic communications advice and marketing content to clients such as the Lannick Group of Companies, the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI), Alliance Atlantis Communications, Habitat for Humanity Toronto and Toastmasters International.
A resourceful and innovative thinker, Karen is always looking for new ways to help her clients develop and implement more effective marketing messages. She believes that companies could better connect with their target audiences by adopting storytelling and narrative techniques currently being used to move audiences in the film and entertainment industries.
A graduate of Hollywood legend Robert McKee's acclaimed Storytelling Seminar, Karen's ambition is to be a catalyst for change in the world through writing, speaking and consulting.
